Terms & Conditions
Last updated 25 September 2026.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to quotes and bookings for coach and minibus hire with Marett's Chariots (AFSC LIMITED, company number 06342600) of Fortune House, Laundry Loke, North Walsham, Norfolk, NR28 0BD (email info@marettschariots.co.uk, phone 01603 298086), whether made through this website, by phone or by email. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Quotes and offers
Requesting a quote is free and doesn't commit you to anything. When we've reviewed your journey we'll email you a price, which you can accept or decline using the links in that email. A quote is an offer: it can be withdrawn or revised at any time before you accept it, and journeys are subject to vehicle availability until your booking is confirmed.
3. Payment and confirmation
When you accept a quote we'll tell you (on screen and by email) the amount to pay, how to pay it, and the deadline to pay by. If payment isn't received by that deadline the quote expires and the price is no longer guaranteed; you're welcome to ask us for a fresh quote.
When paying by bank transfer, please use your quote reference as the payment reference so we can match your payment. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received; we'll email you a booking confirmation with your booking reference.
4. Changes and cancellations by you
If you need to change or cancel a booking, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help. Changes to dates, times or routes may affect the price. For cancellations, whether a refund is available depends on how much notice you give and the costs we've already committed to for your journey; we'll always explain what applies before you decide. This does not affect your statutory rights.
5. Changes and cancellations by us
Occasionally we may need to substitute a vehicle; if so it will be of similar or greater capacity and quality. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking and can't provide a suitable alternative, we'll refund everything you've paid for the journey in full.
6. Passengers
To keep everyone safe and journeys on time, passengers must:
- be ready at the agreed pickup time and place;
- follow the driver's reasonable instructions and wear seatbelts where fitted;
- not smoke or vape on board;
- only bring or consume alcohol by prior arrangement with us;
- not behave in a way that risks safety or the comfort of others.
The driver may refuse to carry, or ask to leave the vehicle, any passenger whose behaviour puts safety at risk. The person who made the booking is responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused by their party, beyond normal wear and tear.
7. Luggage and personal property
Reasonable luggage is included. Tell us in advance about bulky items (for example wheelchairs, pushchairs or equipment) so we can plan space. Personal belongings are carried at the owner's risk; anything found on the vehicle after a journey will be kept safe for you to collect.
8. Delays and events outside our control
We plan journeys carefully, but traffic, weather, road closures, accidents and mechanical breakdown can cause delays despite our best efforts. If a vehicle breaks down we'll take all reasonable steps to provide a replacement and complete your journey. Please allow plenty of time when travelling to time-critical events such as flights; we are not responsible for missed connections or events caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
9. Our responsibilities and liability
We will provide the vehicle and service as agreed, keep our vehicles properly maintained and insured, and use professional, licensed drivers.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, our liability in connection with a booking is limited to the price you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Your information
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Complaints
If anything falls short, contact us at info@marettschariots.co.uk or 01603 298086 and we'll do our best to put it right promptly.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
